Overview

The promise of Barack Obama's election was that it would inaugurate a new era of international engagement, especially with Europe. What has been the record of the Obama administration, two years in? The United States works closely with Europe on every issue of global importance, from Afghanistan and Iran to climate change and the global economy. The State Department's Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Philip H Gordon, will review the administration's record and outline the US policy agenda on Europe.

This meeting will be followed by an open reception.
