Angola and the UK: Findings of an Inter-Parliamentary Union Visit

4 November 2010 - 11:00am to 12:00pm

Chatham House, London

Lord Grocott, Leader of Inter-Parliamentary Union Delegation to Angola

Angola's influence and ambition as an emerging regional power in southern and central Africa is growing. Its wealth in natural resources as well as its emergence as an economic power makes Angola increasingly important for the UK as well as many other countries. In September 2010 a delegation of the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union visited Angola on a fact-finding mission; the second such visit since the end of Angola's civil war. Lord Grocott, who led the delegation, will report on his impressions and findings at this roundtable.
