The Economics of UK Security and Defence Policy: The SDSR: Does it All Add Up?
Following the publication of the Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) at the end of October, this half day event will focus on the practical matter of implementing the review and will ask the critical question: Does it all add up?
In financial, strategic and political terms, can the new SDSR deliver a coherent and workable national defence and security policy? What will the new SDSR involve and how will Government departments such as the Ministry of Defence and bodies such as the National Security Council work together to realise the objectives it sets out? What are the implications for the UK's ability to retain an indigenous defence capability and what will the conclusions of the SDSR mean for Britain's broader strategic aims?
This event forms part of the series on The Economics of UK Security and Defence Policy.
Attendance is by invitation only.
