Overview

Amb. John Campbell, author of Nigeria: Dancing on the Brink, will examine the nexus of Nigerian political realities and the mechanics of voting following the now-scheduled completion of voter registration and the People's Democratic Party presidential primary. He will draw on his experience as US ambassador to Nigeria during the 2007 Nigerian elections for insight into possible outcomes of the 2011 presidential elections within the context of deteriorating security in the Niger Delta and the Middle Belt, and increasing regional and ethnic division among Nigerian's ruling elites.
