The speaker will discuss internal and external perceptions of India, including the historical roots of its present global position, and analyse how India's place in the world has altered as its economy has grown. He will examine how India's status is defined by its relationship with Pakistan and the wider Asian region, the role played by Indian expatriates and whether India aims to be the superpower it is now expected to be.
