Over the past years Africa has witnessed political, economic and social progress in many parts with steady modernization and greater integration into the global economy. However, while there is a wide recognition that regional integration is crucial for the prosperous future of African countries' economic progress, with some of the highest tariffs facing African countries being imposed by their neighbors, regional economic integration still remains a challenge and only a very small percentage of African countries exports are being traded regionally.

The speakers will discuss the prospects for an African free trade area.

This event is held in association with the APPG on Trade Out of Poverty. Please note the external location.
