The External Action Service: Partnerships and Priorities for a New European Diplomacy

24 March 2011 00:00

Chatham House, London

As the first wave of External Action Service (EAS) appointments take up their positions, the service has begun to take shape. However, the popular revolutions across the Middle East and North Africa have exposed once more the challenge the EU faces in making its diplomacy the pre-eminent voice in the region.

Looking beyond the bureaucratic horse-trading, this event, in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, will be analysing what the EAS' priorities should be, where its efforts can have most impact and exploring innovative diplomatic practice that might allow the EAS to flourish.

Attandance is by invitation only.
