For the last twelve months the international community has been fixated on the evolving events in North Africa and the Middle East, as domestic turbulence ebbs and flows throughout the region. Why did this happen? Should the world have been surprised? How will it evolve? What are the foreign policy ramifications in the near and medium term? With special emphasis on Egypt, these are some of the questions the speaker will address, as analysts suggest the Arab Spring is doomed to turn into a long hot summer.
