Transatlantic Relations: A Case for Optimism
Rt Hon Lord Robertson of Port Ellen, President, Chatham House
Chair: Dr Robin Niblett, Director, Chatham House
The military action in Libya has once again raised the temperature in the debate on burden-sharing in the transatlantic community. While Europe is doing more, the US chooses, or is forced, to stand back. Lord Robertson will argue that, far from damaging the essential relationship between the US and Europe, it will lead to a newer and stronger relationship.
This meeting will be followed by an open reception.
