Alexey Navalny, Founder, RosPil

This roundtable discussion will look at the ways in which the media shapes and responds to political debate in Russia. In the build up to the forthcoming presidential elections, Alexey Navalny will discuss the role of political websites in a highly controlled mass media market. His website, RosPil, has exposed irregularities in government tender documents and galvanised popular interest in fighting corruption in a way no mainstream political force has been able to do. He will discuss the role that websites like RosPil play in shaping the political landscape, and will look at the broader significance of the internet in Russia.

Attendance at this event is strictly by invitation only.
