In 2012 Kenya is due to hold its first presidential elections under the new constitution adopted in the 2010 referendum. Mr Hassan Omar Hassan will discuss the lessons learnt from the violence following the 2007 disputed elections results and offer his perspectives on the challenges his office faces in responding to pre-election human rights violations and advancing the human rights agenda.

This meeting will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
