4 November 2011 - 3:30pm to 5:00pm

Chatham House, London

Lilia Shevtsova, Carnegie Moscow Center
Andrew Wood, Russia and Eurasia Programme, Chatham House

Two decades after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the West has yet to adjust to the post-Soviet reality and Russia has not settled on its relationship with the rest of the world. Distinguished Russia scholars Lilia Shevtsova and Andrew Wood will discuss their new paper, which analyzes how relations are shifting between Russia and the world, and how the Russia of Putin and Medvedev emerged from the ashes of the Soviet Union. The authors will also discuss the impact of recent events, such as Putin’s announcement of his intention to be president again.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
