Overview

Laurent Bonnefoy will be presenting his new book, Salafism in Yemen: Transnationalism and Religious Identity. Based on extensive research conducted in the Arabian Peninsula, the book takes into account the internal dynamics of the Yemeni branch of the movement as well as its relationship to its complex and evolving context. Fernando Carvajal will expand upon the political context of transition in Yemen and discuss how the current dynamics may affect the Salafi movement.
