Chatham House, London

Dr Darius Mans, President of Africare
Chair: Alex Vines, Research Director, Regional and Security Studies, Chatham House

At this meeting the president of Africare will discuss current and likely future trends of American aid to African countries. Founded in 1970, Africare is the oldest and largest African-American led organisation specialising in assisting Africa, with 2,500 projects across thirty-six countries. The organisation has particular insight into patterns of American involvement in Africa over the past forty years due to its long experience in agriculture and food security, health and HIV/Aids, water and sanitation issues, and emergency humanitarian assistance.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
