There is now general convergence that better TB control requires investment not only in diagnostics, treatment, and health systems but also in development initiatives which address the wider social determinants of tuberculosis. This includes social protection interventions, such as cash transfer programmes. What are missing now are the practical and pragmatic ideas for action. This one-day symposium will explore how this agenda should be taken forward.
