Hon Anna Margareth Abdalla MP, Chairperson of the Tanzania Women Parliamentary Group (TWPG), and a delegation of TWPG representatives
Chair: Bob Dewar, Associate Fellow, Africa Programme, Chatham House

Tanzania has an enviable reputation for stability and democratic governance, and in recent years economic growth has begun to transform the nation’s prospects. However this growth has brought its own tensions, including greater demands for equitable distribution of the country's emerging mineral wealth, and growing allegations of corruption at all levels. Within all of this the role of women remains central, and this cross-party group of MPs, in the UK as guests of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK, will discuss the challenges and the changing political landscape they face as parliamentary representatives.
