US Discussion Group: The United States and the Future of the Arab Spring
Dr Daniel L. Byman, Director of Research, Saban Center for Middle East Policy, Brookings Institution
Chair: Xenia Dormandy, Senior Fellow, Chatham House
As crackdowns on demonstrators continue in Syria, a tentative transition starts in Yemen, and reform stalls in Egypt and Libya, the outcomes of the on-going revolutions of the Arab spring appear uncertain. Dr Byman will discuss the implications for US policy of faltering political and economic reform in the Middle East and North Africa.
This event will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
