Dr DeAnne Julius, Chairman of Chatham House (2003-12)
Chair: Dr Robin Niblett, Director, Chatham House

As the US moves towards a fiscal cliff, the 'American dream' of upward mobility for all is under serious threat.  A decade of low growth and widening income inequality is polarizing political debate just as public/private trade-offs are growing starker. The lecture will explore the causes and possible consequences for America and the world if indeed American exceptionalism has reached its economic limits.

This event will be followed by a drinks reception at 19:00.
