Identifying Sustainable Methods for Improving Global Health Security and Access to Health Care
This event is the first meeting of the Commission on Macroeconomics and Health (CMH) Working Groups.
In December 2011, the Centre on Global Health Security held a major conference to mark the tenth anniversary of the publication of the report of the WHO Commission on Macroeconomics and Health. The event considered the significant changes in international health policies, institutions and financing that have occurred in the last decade, and what the priorities should be for improving health outcomes internationally in the next ten years, given today's very different economic and political circumstances. To pursue these ideas, the Centre will convene two high-level working groups to apply new and independent thinking with the aim to generate proposals for reform that will carry weight with international and national policy-makers.
Participants will include some of the leading actors in the field of global health, including participants from major international organization, health ministries, and world-leading academic institutions.
The findings of the working groups will be published in 2013.
Attendance is by invitation only. The event will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
The event is part of the Centre on Global Health Security project Towards Universal Coverage.
