Overview

The Special Tribunal for Lebanon is the only international body that can prosecute individuals in their absence, which presents challenges in ensuring a fair trial and protecting the rights of the accused. Furthermore, this is the first international trial to prosecute a crime of terrorism.

The speaker will discuss recent developments related to the Tribunal within the context of the current situation in Lebanon.
