Overview

For its small size, Rwanda is perhaps surprisingly important, not just for the future of the region, but as presenting deeply challenging and contested issues of what forms of governance are desirable, how these balance against the search for security, accountability and broad based economic growth, and what role international actors should play in promoting their own models and proposed solutions.

At this event, the authors of Rwanda Fast Forward: Social, Economic, Military and Reconciliation Prospects (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012) will explain how their book seeks to move beyond emotive discourse and value judgments to identify the various scenarios Rwanda may move towards in coming years, and their determining factors.
