James Lahai, National Coordinator, National Elections Watch (NEW)
Marcella Samba-Sesay, Head of Programmes, Campaign for Good Governance; and Regional Coordinator, NEW

On November 17 2012, Sierra Leone will hold its third democratic elections since the end of its civil war. There is growing awareness of the significance of these elections for consolidating peace and the country's democratic transition. But with critical challenges facing Sierra Leone relating to poverty, unemployment, corruption and development, the stakes are high and tensions are likely to rise during the campaigning period.

The speakers will provide an update on recent developments, discuss key challenges in the run up to the elections and discuss the role the international community can play in ensuring a free and fair process.

Attendance is by invitation only.
