Strengthening Compliance with International Humanitarian Law
Chair: Elizabeth Wilmshurst, Associate Fellow, International Law Programme, Chatham House
The International Conference of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent in 2011 recognized the importance of 'enhancing and ensuring the effectiveness of mechanisms of compliance with international humanitarian law' in order to strengthen protection for victims of armed conflict. This event will explore possibilities for new mechanisms or procedures for that purpose.
Attendance is by invitation only.
This workshop is sponsored by the British Red Cross.
