The panel will explore the prospects for India's economy and assess whether the recent slowdown in economic growth is temporary or represents a slower trend rate of growth. The speakers will consider whether the recently announced 'big-bang' economic reforms will be enough to promote investment and boost growth, and whether this marks the beginning of a new era of economic reform and liberalization. They will also consider the likelihood of further economic reform with a general election to be held within 18 months.

This event will be followed by a drinks reception at 18:00.
