Akihiko Tanaka, President, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
Chair: Andrew Fraser, CMG, Senior Adviser, Mitsubishi Corporation International

In 2013 Japan will host its fifth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD V), marking 20 years of direct development assistance from Japan to Africa. Japan's development agency, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has responsibility for the country's development relationships and is an implementing agency of the TICAD process.

Akihiko Tanaka will discuss how JICA’s vision and strategy are shaped within Japan to reflect domestic expectations and how they can provide assistance most effectively in African countries.
