This seminar will examine changing leadership roles in the transatlantic relationship in the wake of the financial crisis and turmoil in many eurozone economies. The seminar will also consider the proposed Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and potential further cooperation in the fields of environmental governance and human rights.

The speakers will discuss reciprocal currency and trade issues. They will also consider how the transatlantic relationship is affected by competition for energy resources and the threats and opportunities posed by emerging actors on the global stage.

This event is part of the TRANSWORLD project, which researches the evolution of the transatlantic relationship and its role in shaping global governance architectures.
