Chatham House, London

Knut Doermann, Head, Legal Division, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Geneva

The recent adoption of a global arms trade treaty at the United Nations General Assembly is a historic achievement by states and those who have been campaigning for such a treaty, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The speaker will give his analysis both of what has been achieved with the treaty and the next steps which must be taken for the treaty to be put into practice by states across the world.
