Harold Hongju Koh, Sterling Professor of International Law, Yale Law School; Legal Adviser to the US Department of State (2009-13)
Chair: Philippe Sands QC, Barrister, Matrix Chambers; Professor of International Law, University College London

Harold Hongju Koh will assess whether the Obama administration has a distinctive approach to international law, and if it is based on a consistent philosophy or strategy. He will outline how he believes this approach can be made stronger and more effective, in the context of current issues facing US foreign policy - including drones, Guantanamo Bay, Afghanistan, cyber law, climate change and EU political developments.
