As countries in the developed world struggle to reboot their stagnating economies, the speakers will discuss the arguments for and against the austerity measures that have been implemented by governments. They will evaluate to what extent austerity is an effective long-term measure for reducing deficits and discuss whether austerity promotes or inhibits growth.
