Overview

The speakers will discuss their work with UNICEF Innovation, which works to create new solutions to development problems affecting children, such as using SMS and open source technology to register and track births in Nigeria, monitor nutrition in Malawi or communicate with hundreds of thousands of children in Uganda about their daily challenges.

The speakers, named in TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2013, will offer lessons for policy-makers and discuss the importance of local citizen engagement in their work. They will also share their thoughts on how the development community should structure itself to tackle the cross-border, global challenges it aims to address.
