Brazil’s Uncertain Future
Brazil is one of the world's largest economies, but its economic growth has failed to meet projections. Following riots this year, and uncertainty over preparations for next year's World Cup, questions have arisen over Brazil's progress.
Professor Victor Bulmer-Thomas will examine Brazil's political and economic trajectory. He will contend that while there are still reasons to be positive, considering the country’s social advances, political elites should take recent unrest as a warning that reform is needed.
