What Will Georgia Look Like Under Margvelashvili?

1 November 2013 - 14:00 to 15:30

Chatham House, London

Tea Tsulukiani, Minister of Justice, Georgia

After winning elections on 27 October, Giorgi Margvelashvili will soon take over the presidency of Georgia from Mikheil Saakashvili. The election, marking Georgia's transition from presidential to a parliamentary republic, has cemented the political control of Bidzina Ivanishvili's Georgian Dream. However, uncertainties about Georgia's future remain: Prime Minister Ivanishvili has announced he would step down before the end of the year, but has not yet nominated a successor.

Tea Tsulukiani will discuss the political and diplomatic challenges facing the Georgian government in the short- to medium-term.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
