Overview
Recent attacks in Yemen, Kenya and Algeria have highlighted the continuing threat of Islamic extremist organizations and the importance of developing a deeper understanding of the drivers and development of the different groups.
The panel will question how and why such groups have emerged, explore local contexts and grievances, the extent to which they may share operational or ideological ties and what their global impact might be.
