Overview

During the event, a panel of expert speakers will share their thoughts on the status of women in Afghan society and suggest how progress for women can be accelerated through changing social norms, facilitating women's leadership, ensuring a comprehensive provision of services, and by building legal and institutional capacities.

The roundtable will develop key recommendations around how best to support the implementation of Afghan government commitments to women and girls, and offer practical solutions to ensure that the situation for Afghan women is strengthened and improved in the run-up to and following the 2014 withdrawal of troops.

The event will be followed by an evening reception.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
