Overview

At this event, the speakers will assess efforts that have been underway to re-establish Mali’s territorial integrity and political pluralism following the January 2013 French intervention.

Marc-Antoine Pérouse de Montclos will present the findings of the new book La tragedie Malienne, which focuses on the long-term internal problems that have hindered Mali’s development. He will argue that the response to the Malian crisis should not be framed in terms of a global Islamist threat only and will present his views on the role international partners can play in assisting the new government to address long-term domestic challenges.
