This event will analyze Ukraine's political and economic relationship with Russia, and the extent to which it is linked the Kyiv's avoidance of economic and political reforms and Moscow’s wish to retain political influence in its neighbourhood. The speakers will focus on the recent deal concluded between President Yanukovych and President Putin, which includes significant gas discounts and a $15 billion loan. They will also discuss the impact of the current political crisis in Ukraine on bilateral relations.

The speakers will offer initial remarks for approximately ten minutes each, followed by an hour for questions and discussion.
