The Changing Dynamics of Global Energy Markets and the Implications for Responses to Supply Disruption
Global energy markets are changing. Demand for hydrocarbon resources is led by growth economies in Asia, oil markets are increasingly influenced by financial markets, there is a growing share of petroleum products in the global oil trade, and unconventional production methods are transforming oil and gas markets. At the same time, new threats to infrastructure and the increasing complexity of supply routes and markets is increasing the likelihood and impact of potential supply disruptions.
This workshop will bring together key decision-makers to discuss the implications of these changes for national, international and industry responses to an oil supply disruption. It will also examine the practical options for strengthening security through existing or alternative mechanisms and new governance arrangements.
Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
