Overview

Uranium extraction could come to play a significant role in the national economic performance of many African countries in the future. African countries already contribute a significant share of the uranium used in the peaceful nuclear industry worldwide, and this share may increase. African uranium-producing countries strongly oppose the use of the uranium they produce in nuclear explosive devices, both by countries that already have nuclear weapons and those that seek them.

At this roundtable the findings of a two-year project will be presented, and the recommendations aimed at promoting the responsible management and use of national origin uranium will be discussed. Lunch will be provided.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
