Turkey’s local elections on 30 March are being viewed as an important test for Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following a trying period for his government that included high-level corruption allegations, fallout from the handling of the Gezi Park protests and controversy over the implementation of new internet regulation. The panel will discuss the political and economic impact of recent events and assess what the election outcome means for Erdoğan’s leadership and his intention to run for president in August.
