Biography
Abdullah's research focuses on Syria and its neighbours, including minorities, identity politics, and society and, before joining Chatham House, he was a social media analyst based in Dubai between 2011 and 2012.
Before that he worked as a freelance journalist, researcher and translator in Lebanon between 2012 and 2013.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and media from Damascus University and speaks fluent Arabic and English.
