In this event, Shiraz Maher demystifyed some of the core issues surrounding Salafi-jihadism, and also explained the intricacies within a broad and diverse religious tradition that is often caricatured in the media. The presentation drew on Maher’s book, Salafi-Jihadism: The History of an Idea, to explore the concept of jihad, accounting for its evolution and trajectory over time.
