Dina Habib Powell examines some of the obstacles that still remain in growing women’s participation in the workforce, such as access to capital and new markets, as well as other social challenges. She sets out steps both policy-makers and private sector investors could take to continue to reduce these barriers and promote women’s economic empowerment, which could boost sustainable economic growth and productivity in the region.
