Krzysztof Szczerski presents his view of what the European Union’s priorities should be for securing its future. He discusses Poland’s proposals for strengthening the union as well as its own international role.
The EU faces an ongoing debate over its future and how best it can respond to a number of pressing internal and external challenges. These include returning some powers to national governments and reinforcing national parliaments.
Szczerski argues that the EU can resolve problems surrounding integration by increasing the freedom of member states in order to ease discontent. In doing so, he argues against the introduction of tighter regulations and explore their negative effect on member state solidarity.
Szczerski ends by explaining how these proposals can strengthen the EU as well as further Poland’s role in the international arena.
