Ghassan Salamé is Professor of International Relations at Sciences Po in Paris and the founding Dean of its Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA). From 2000 to 2003 he was Lebanon’s Minister of Culture. He served as Political Adviser to the UN Mission in Iraq (2003) and as Senior Adviser to the UN Secretary-General (2003–05 and since 2012). He is Vice-Chairman of the board of the International Crisis Group (Brussels) and sits on the board of the Open Society Institute (New York) and the council of the International Institute for Strategic Studies. He is the Founding Chairman of the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (Beirut). He is the author of several books on the politics of the Middle East. He was made Chevalier de la Legion d'honneur in 2004. He studied Law, Humanities (PhD) and Political Science (PhD).
