Summary

Dr Olusegun Mimiko has been the Governor of Ondo State in Nigeria since 2009. He previously served as Commissioner for Health and Secretary to the Ondo State Government, and gained national prominence coordinating the government reform programme as Federal Minister for Housing and Urban Development (2005–07). His administration in Ondo has responded to the millennium development goal (MDG) of bringing down maternal and infant mortality through the ‘Abiye’ programme, adopted by the World Bank. He is also behind a building programme of state-of-the art schools with digitally compliant learning tools and core curricula relevant to the 21st century global job market.
