James Manyika is a Senior Partner at McKinsey and Chair of the McKinsey Global Institute. Based in Silicon Valley for 20 years he has worked with many of the world’s leading technology companies and their chief executives. He was appointed by President Obama as Vice Chair of the Global Development Council at the White House (2012-present). He was appointed by US Secretaries of Commerce to the Digital Economy Board of Advisors (2016), and National Innovation Advisory Board (2011). Other boards include Council on Foreign Relations, Aspen Institute, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Oxford Internet Institute, MIT’s Initiative on the Digital Economy, UC Berkeley’s School of Information, Harvard’s Hutchins Center and XPrize. He is a non-resident Senior Fellow of Brookings Institution, a fellow of DeepMind and the RSA. A Rhodes Scholar, James has DPhil. MSc. and MA. from Oxford in Robotics, Computation and a BSc. In Electrical Engineering from University of Zimbabwe.
