Aivaras Abromavičius was until recently Ukraine’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade (2014–16). He was previously a partner in the Swedish East Capital group, focusing on Eastern European markets. He started his career at Hansabank, the largest Baltic bank, where he served as Head of Equities. He also headed the Trading Department at Brunswick Emerging Markets. He has lived in Ukraine for more than six years and witnessed the social changes. He is a strong proponent of deregulation, anti-corruption measures and transparent privatization of Ukraine’s state-owned enterprises, to help Ukraine’s economy to return to growth in 2016.
