This is a summary of an event held at Chatham House with Ambassador John Campbell, Ralph Bunche Senior Fellow for Africa Policy Studies, Council on Foreign Relations.

Ambassador Campbell drew on his experience as US ambassador to Nigeria during the 2007 Nigerian elections for insight into possible outcomes of the 2011 presidential elections within the context of deteriorating security in the Niger Delta and the Middle Belt, and increasing regional and ethnic division among Nigerian's ruling elites.
