This is a transcript of a speech made by Dr Robert Lambert MBE, Former Head, Muslim Contact Unit, Metropolitan Police, on 21 September 2011 at Chatham House.

The speaker looked at counter-terrorism strategies in London, and compared them against those adopted in Europe and North America. He argued that successful partnerships between police and Muslims pursued in the capital since 9/11 provide a template for future international counter-terrorism strategy.
