This is a transcript of a speech made by Daniel Ayalon, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs,Israel, on 17 January 2012 at Chatham House.

The minister discussed the opportunities and challenges that developments across the Arab world pose for Israel. He expressed concern that in some of the countries that have witnessed democractic change we may see the emergence of radical forces. On the Palestinian conflict he argued that progress could be made if concessions were forthcoming from both sides.
